Pedagogy

If you’ve read through the basic concepts, you’re ready to move on to something a little bit deeper: Pedagogy. Pedagogy is the academic term for the philosophies and thought processes behind what we do and why we do it. These are important things to consider, because if you don’t understand why you’re doing something, how well are you going to be able to do it? This is probably the most academic, esoteric section of the website, but I’m going to try to keep it fairly light.

That’s mostly because, as much as I love learning and teaching, I am not an academic. I’m a practicing teacher, which means that, for me, pedagogy informs what I do, but I try to keep it practical. And fun. After all, what good is learning if it can’t be at least a little stimulating and fun, right?
